Join GITMA in visiting EMC’s Franklin, MA campus to learn about the organization’s IT best practices.

There will be a tour of their facilities and a guest speaker to outline how the IT operations at EMC run. We will have a short networking lunch while at EMC consisting of pizzas and beverages ordered from a local pizzeria.

Bentley Goes to Salem

Join the GSA for a trip to Salem, Massachusetts. Meet at 11:30 am at the Long Wharf North in Boston near the New England Aquarium. Everyone will board the Salem Ferry (http://www.salemferry.com/), a high-speed catamaran which will transport us from Boston Harbor to Salem Harbor in under 45 minutes. You’ll get amazing views of both cities that you won’t see anywhere else.

Next, spend the day in Salem visiting museums, shopping, dining, and more! Have some Halloween fun, see mock executions, witch trials, dungeons, pirates and learn about New England history. Visiting Salem in October is a New England tradition that you don’t want to miss out on. Visit Salem’s website for more information: http://salem.org/index.shtml.

Finally, meet back up with the group at 6:30 PM and leave Salem on the Ferry, arriving back in Boston before 8:00 PM. Then head for home or have an evening in Boston! You’ll be steps from Faneuil Hall and the North End.

IMPORTANT: myBentley registration and payment is required for this trip by Wednesday October 13th.

You are responsible for getting to and from Boston on your own.

Graduate School Summit at Homecoming

The Summit was developed as a result of feedback from students wanting more weekend opportunities for professional development and an expressed desire to connect more frequently with alumni.

To meet those goals, this event will be taking place over Homecoming Weekend as a way of allowing graduate students and Graduate School alumni to participate in all of the offered sessions.

The day is centered on learning and making connections.

All events are free (with the exception of the Etiquette Lunch which has a cost of $10/per student).

Do you need to buy a suit for interviews, job fairs and client meetings? Build up your professional wardrobe? Stock up on your winter gear? The Graduate Management Association (GMA) and the Graduate Women’s Leadership Organization (GWLO) are teaming up to help you “Shop for Success”!

We are planning renting a bus on Friday, October 22, 2010 that will take us to the two of the premier discount shopping locations here in Massachusetts:

Wrentham Premium Outlet Mall (Wrentham) - http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=10

The bus will leave campus at 10:00 AM sharp and will return to campus around 5:00 PM. At the Wrentham Premium Outlet Mall, trip attendees will be provided with V.I.P. coupon books, filled with discounts at many of the stores at the Outlet. International sizing conversion charts will also be available.

The event is open to the entire Bentley graduate student community. Attendees will be charged $5 per person to help offset the cost of the charter bus.
